ARTIST BIO
My art is primarily driven by a curiosity to explore the intersections of the visual arts and the written word. I’m especially adept at poetry and often incorporate poems into my visual pieces; prose and freeform poetry are the mediums through which I most easily express emotion, so my writing is usually highly personal in nature. Many of my pieces are self-portraits, reflecting parts of myself that I honestly wasn’t fully aware of prior to making them. Through photographs, abstract images, formal illustrations, rough sketches, and comic panels, I fortify and build upon my own words, creating something as simultaneously real and visceral as the emotions that inspired them.
Inside us there is a word we cannot pronounce and that is who we are.
